Perfect Soft Eggs
8 Feb 2010 | 1:40 pmI am craving soft eggs which I don’t think I’ve had since the 80s. It’s all because I found this really cool guide on how to make the perfect soft eggs awhile back and since then I haven’t been able to get it out of my head. I should try making some tomorrow. [Link] -

Goodbye DHL!
8 Feb 2010 | 7:18 amDHL for the third time now have changed the way they calculate your shipment. I spoke to them on the phone and they have now started charging based on volumetric weight which means they’re now MUCH MORE expensive than Aramex Shop & Ship. Even if you deduct taxes unless its something very expensive you’re much better off using Aramex. To give you an idea of how expensive DHL has become, a reader just paid KD31 for a package that weighs just 1.3KG! Until they go back to calculating based on actual weight I will be using Aramex again. At least with Aramex they don’t change… -

A melange of thoughts today

Demi's Style
8 Feb 2010 | 7:06 pmKuwaiti designer and Central Saint Martins graduate Tahir Sultan's new demi collection has been revealed. The collection is a mix of classic wardrobe pieces with an unexpected modern twist. It features a color palette of mostly black and white, with hints of gray and a lot of Tahir’s signature constructed/de-constructed details. I’m loving the wide black pants with basic white button-down shirt. It leaves a lot of room for personalizing the look with my favorite accessories. From the Runway to Zara
7 Feb 2010 | 10:26 pmEvery time I go to Zara I play the guessing game. Who's their inspiration this time? So here are some of my picks, The Breton stripe top? I'd say a mix of Chanel and Balmain. Not-for-gym grey sweatpants? A little bit of Alexander Wang and a whole lot of Isabel Marant. The striped blazer? A hint of Givenchy. My fellow bloggerista also spotted a Burberry-ish trench coat. My pick? The grey sweatpants! -
Dare to Wear
7 Feb 2010 | 12:11 amFound some really cool looking shoes at Kurt Geiger boutique in the Avenues phase II the other day. Like these black suede wedge heels with multi-chain detail on the back. I wasn't so sure at the beginning, but I thought to myself... if I rock them with a tee, a big shoulders jacket and skinny jeans/wide tapered pants, they'd look kind of rock chic cool. I tried them on, and nope, there was something off about them... plus I'd rather buy other shoes I'm eying from the S/S collections. So I slowly moved away, only to find these cute lace-up flat shoes for that ultimate urban chic…

Gamespot in Kuwait!
9 Feb 2010 | 10:14 amCheck this out! An actual Gamestop in Kuwait. Well, technically it’s not an official Gamestop, but hey it’s the closest thing we got to a real one! It’s just a video game store that is “borrowing” the Gamestop logo and name. But there’s a huge difference between this Gamestop and the Gamestops in America; the guys working in this store are actually competent about video games! Hey Ayatollah! Leave Those Kids Alone!
9 Feb 2010 | 8:13 amEvery now and then I make a new friend. By then the secretary had left and dad was ready to go. I hopped in the car and went to the farm, it was seriously freezing there. I grabbed my camera and took some pictures to share with you guys. Beer is good for bones. 3 Cheers !!!
8 Feb 2010 | 11:13 pmBeer is a significant source of dietary silicon, a key ingredient for increasing bone mineral density, and hence a moderate consumption may help fight osteoporosis. An international team has carried out the study and found that beer is rich in silicon a mineral found in barley, a key ingredient in the beverage which survives the brewing process as orthosilicic acid. And, according to the study, its silicon which helps strengthen bones and prevent osteoporosis, a disease that is characterised by low bone mass as well as the deterioration of bone tissue. Out of Kuwait
30 Jan 2010 | 8:13 pmLike so many people, it’s time for me to run away for a few days and get out of Kuwait for a change. I have been working on a project from last year and i was hoping to launch it by the end of January this year, but it seems it’s going to take a bit longer (another two weeks), so i need this trip after working hard for so many months on a website that i am hoping to be a good gateway for shoppers in the Middle East and the Arab world. It’s going to be a Social and Shopping website at the same time, combining two services in one place. Launching the english version first,… -

How Much Military Aid to Israel…Do You Provide?
9 Feb 2010 | 8:57 amBetween 2009-2018, the United States is scheduled to give Israel–the largest recipient of U.S. aid–$30 billion in military aid. Through its illegal 42-year military occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip, Israel misuses U.S. weapons in violation of U.S. law to kill and injure Palestinian civilians, destroy Palestinian civilian infrastructure, blockade the Gaza Strip, and build illegal settlements in West Bank and East Jerusalem. How much of this total will your community provide? Is this a good use of your tax dollars? What else could your taxes be… -
Will Obama Opt for War on Iran?
8 Feb 2010 | 10:58 amBy Dr. Stephen Sniegoski* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz Two articles, one by anti-war conservative commentator Patrick Buchanan and the other by neoconservative Daniel Pipes, deal with the issue of Obama moving toward war on Iran for political reasons. In "Will Obama Play the War Card?," Patrick Buchanan points out that this option is certainly a political temptation for Obama especially since Congress is pushing him in that direction. Buchanan cites Congress' effort to impose very stiff sanctions on refined petroleum exports to Iran as a move toward war. [On January 28,… -

Gaza in Plain Language [Video]
7 Feb 2010 | 9:49 amI hope you will reserve nine minutes and 41 seconds of your time to look at this video. Video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFK5TNcmEmg It really is time that the story of what is being done to the oppressed people of Gaza gets as wide a coverage as possible, in these days of overt and blatant mainstream-media bias for Zionist Israel. If it arouses your anger and compassion as much as it did mine, when reading Joe Mowrey's fine essay and editing this video, please share it with as many people as you can. The article "Gaza in Plain Language", by Joe Mowrey, first…
